Simpsons is delighted to announce that Nicole Choolun is now a lawyer in our Music, Film & TV and Digital Media team. Nicole joins us from one of Australia’s leading independent law firms, McCullough Robertson, where she practised corporate and commercial law and real and intellectual property law for three and a half years
As a long time advocate of the arts, Nicole combines her legal experience with her understanding of the media and entertainment industries to assist Jules Munro with Simpsons’ Music, Film & Television and Digital Media practices
In addition to her law degree, Nicole holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in French and English from the University of Queensland, completing her First Class Arts Honours in Film and Television Studies. She was invited to attend the Cannes Film Festival in 2011 and has volunteered for the Brisbane Film Festival and for local French radio station 4EB. Nicole has also been recognised by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for her film and television reviews
Her brother’s career as a composer and conductor in Germany, meanwhile, has enhanced her appreciation of the music industry
Nicole is a member of the New South Wales Young Lawyers Association and the Australian Film Institute. As the newest member of Simpsons, she looks forward to further supporting the creative industries by volunteering for the Arts Law Centre of Australia.
