Bio

Tony joined Simpsons in 2024. He works closely with Jules Munro and Mark Bamford in the firm’s film/TV and music departments.

Legal Experience

Before joining Simpsons he was a litigator in general commercial disputes and constitutional matters in California, USA. Tony is a registered and practising US attorney in California representing clients in the entertainment industry.

His work in Australia includes drafting chain of title agreements for the development of various film and TV projects, opinion letters and engagement letters involving tax rebates, incentives, and grants on behalf of clients to major banks for financing major studio and streaming projects. He has also drafted SPV agreements between producers and major studios, as well as both accounting and payroll services agreements for both studio and independent films.

In the music industry, Tony has drafted and negotiated complex agreements ranging from recording and publishing deals to producer and remixer agreements for internationally renowned artists, publishers, and record companies. He has also assisted a major publisher in acquiring a substantial music publishing catalogue and related assets.

Tony also represents both agencies and entertainment, fashion, and media personalities, helping them navigate management, agent, and services agreements.

Other Industry Experience

In addition to his legal career, Tony is an accomplished artist, having performed in TV, film, and stage productions in both the U.S. and Australia.

Education

Tony holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communications from Colorado Christian University. Additionally, Tony completed his Overseas Qualified Attorney studies at the University of Sydney.
